General Information

• You may choose a 2-week session of 8 lessons (Youth & Adult).
• The Parent/Child class is a 4-week session of 2 lessons per week.
• Each lesson is 45 minutes. Parent/Child is 30 minutes.
• We must have at least 4 participants to have the class.
• The class size limit is 10 children for Youth and Adult.
• The limit is 5 children for Parent/Child.
• Deadline for sign-ups is the Sunday before the class starts.
• Costs are $35.00 for members and $45.00 for potential members.
• Fee is non-refundable unless the class is cancelled.

Preschool Programs: 4 years - 6 years

• Class will learn how to blow bubbles; put face in the water, and proper kicking technique. They will also learn independence with the use of a swim belt.

Youth Program

• Class will be introduced to the front crawl, front and back floating, putting face in the water, and personal safety skills.

Older Youth & Adult Program

• Class will build endurance swimming and reinforce fundamentals of front crawl, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. There will be an emphasis on rescues and safety floating, treading water, and lifesaving skills. Underwater and lap swimming will be introduced as well as breaststroke and dolphin kick.

Private Swim Lessons

• Sign up for a one on one lesson!
• All ages & skill levels are invited!
• We can set up a time that is convenient for you!
• Member: $15.00 per hour or $50.00 for 4 hours
• Potential Member: $20.00 per hour or $75.00 for 4 hours

Parent/Child Swim Lessons

• This program promotes water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities for children from 6 months up to 3 years of age AND their parents or other trusted adults. The benefits of this program include: a safe program, enthusiastic caring, and mature instructors who work well with babies and parents, a way for parents to learn water safety and help teach their children basic swimming and water safety skills, and a positive, fun program that fosters the parent-child relationship. Cost is $35.00 for members and $45.00 for potential members.

Water Aerobics

• Classes will begin June 5, 2006. Classes will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:00am and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:0pm. The classes are free to Union County Family YMCA members. Potential members may purchase a monthly pass for $45.00

Pool Rentals

• The Union County Family YMCA pool can be rented for birthday parties, softball & baseball celebrations, church gatherings, and much more. For more information call 864.427.0668 or come by and visit us.

Family Swim

• The Union County Family YMCA family swim will begin on June 5, 2006. It will be Monday thru Friday from 6:00pm-8:00pm. This is for YMCA members only.

Public Swim

• Public swim will begin on Monday, May 29, 2006. It will be Sunday thru Friday from 1:30pm-5:00pm. The cost is $4.00 per adult (17 & up) and $3.00 per child (16 & younger). If you are under the age of 13, then and adult (17 & up) must be with you. Call the Union County Family YMCA (864.427.0668) for group rates.

Stingray Swim Team

• The Union County Family YMCA Stingray Swim Team is for boys and girls 6-14 years old. The team will learn fundamentals of competitive swimming and train for meets with other YMCA's around the area.
• Practice will begin June 5, 2006. Practices will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
• The costs are $30.00 plus suit and meet fees for members and $40.00 plus suit and meet fees for potential members.
